September 16, 2015 - CAL FIRE reports this morning nearly 14,000 firefighters are battling 10 large fires across California. In Northern California, relatively cool, moist conditions will linger through Thursday. High pressure will take over the weather pattern Friday with much warmer and drier weather quickly returning for the weekend. In Southern California, temperatures will warm today by a couple of degrees but most areas will still remain below CAL FIREnormal. It will continue to be windy across the mountains and deserts on Wednesday. A broad trough will linger across the region during the latter part of the work week with daytime highs expected to warm by a few degrees each day.

CAL FIRE recommends that all residents be prepared for wildfire by remembering “Ready, Set, Go!” Learn how to create a family communication plan and emergency supply kit at www.ReadyForWildfire.org.

This year's fire season has been a record setting year; not only with the number of fires, but the size and destruction. The Valley Fire and Butte Fire are now the 9th and 14th most destructive wildfires in California. (See the full list). The Rough Fire in Fresno County is now the 16th largest wildfire in California's recorded history. (See the full list).
