May 23, 2023 - The MCHS Academic Boosters Club recently awarded two high school students with certificates and $250 cash prizes for doing their Personal Best.
“ABC congratulates Natalee Marundee and Angel Duran on the significant academic growth they made this school year and wishes them continued success,” stated ABC's board chair Jill Harry. She presented the students with certificates and checks on May 28.
To qualify, students were required to complete an application, including an essay and two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher from a core academic subject like English, math, science, or history and the second from either a teacher, MCHS staff tutor, or counselor.
In their applications, students explained how they have achieved significant academic growth during the school year — whether it be raising a failing grade to a passing grade, completing a credit recovery program, working with a teacher or tutor to bring up a grade by one full letter or some other similar significant achievement toward a personal academic goal.
In addition to the award certificates and $250 cash prizes, students will be honored at the high school’s achievement night.
