June 2, 2023 - Mariposa County High School held its Achievement Night for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors on Tuesday, May 30. Seniors had their own night the week before. The MCHS Academic Boosters Club sponsored the academic letters and bars given out at this ceremony.
Starting sophomore year, academic letters (for putting on sweaters, jackets, or bulletin boards, are available to students who maintain a 3.5 or greater grade point average throughout the year. In subsequent years, students who earned letters are then eligible to earn bars to add to the letters.
"What a fantastic achievement," said ABC board chair Jill Harry. "Great job to these students!"
These students maintained a 3.5 or greater grade point average throughout the year for the first time, receiving an academic letter to mark their achievement.
In subsequent years, students who continue to maintain a 3.5 or greater grade point average receive a gold bar to add to their letter. These students received a certificate along with the bars.
MCHS Academic Boosters Club, Inc. (ABC) is a 501(c)3 organization with the mission of supplementing and enriching academic experiences and providing educational tools for Mariposa County High School students.
