June 10, 2023 - Fresno Police Department officials report that on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 7:21 a.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to the intersection of Lorena Avenue and Geneva Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation indicating twelve gunshots. Officers arrived and found two shooting victims on scene. One of the victims, 43-year-old Ibrahim Muhammad, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Muhammad was pronounced deceased by medical personnel a short time later. The second victim, a 57-year-old female, was found to have a gunshot wound to the upper body and was also transported to Community Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Currently, the female's condition is listed as critical but stable and remains hospitalized.

Through their investigation, detectives learned both victims were on Lorena Avenue when they were shot. Detectives believe Muhammad was the intended target and the female victim was standing near him when she was struck. Detectives believe Muhammad and the female victim have no association with each other. Currently, detectives have no suspect information and have been canvassing the surrounding neighborhood looking for witnesses and video surveillance.
