Fiction Writing Workshop
Beginning Class – September 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Oakhurst Library Community Room
Beginning on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 local author Jennifer Moss will be presenting a six-week workshop for new authors who want to write fiction.
This program starts from scratch and covers elements of creating an exciting story from inception to publication. Throughout the workshop, the participants will use examples from literature, movies and television. And, then they will use these elements to work on their stories.
The six-week workshop will cover the following topics:
Week 1: Storytelling and the Elements of Fiction
Week 2: Creating Dynamic Characters
Week 3: Voice & Point of View
Week 4: The Four Act Structure – Story Arc
Week 5: Writing the Hook! Creating Worlds
Week 6: Editing/Revising, the Writing Process, the Publishing Industry and how to publish your work
Jennifer Moss is a seasoned author with a series of mysteries published by Black Opal Books and a non-fiction book of baby names published by Perigee Press, a division of Penguin. She has taught a successful Teen Writing Workshop in Oakhurst for three years.
The workshop has a suggested donation of $60 for all six classes. A portion of this donation will go to the Friends of Oakhurst Branch Library.
You can meet Jennifer in person at the Authors’ Faire on Saturday, September 26th at the library (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and you can enroll at that time. Or, you can also sign-up at the library’s front desk.
