JDS District2ArtShow2015Jan DeShera works her loom at the 2015 District 2 Art Show

The Mariposa County Arts Council was proud to sponsor the 3rd Annual District 2 ART SHOW featuring the work of artists and craftsmen/craftswomen living in Greeley Hill, Coulterville, Don Pedro, and the surrounding areas on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the home of Merlin and Mimi Jones in Greeley Hill.

Local artists and craftsmen and women participated in the event, which was attended by approximately 200 guests.

Among the highlights from the show were the wonderful demonstrations provided by participating artists. Jan DeShera wove handspun wool on her loom and a performance by the local band Gerry and the Atrics entertained guests and artists alike. Delicious refreshments and drinks were provided by the Jone’s and local community members.

“We are immensely grateful to Merlin and Mimi Jones for opening their home and providing a gorgeous venue for the artists of District 2 to share their beautiful work. There are many talented artists living in this region and we are so happy to be able to showcase their work in their local community. The Mariposa County Arts Council is very happy to have the opportunity to connect with people in this area of the County.” shared Mariposa County Arts Council’s Executive Director, Cara Goger.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County and is funding in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
