September 22, 2015. Myra Ramirez said the Video Service Delivery (VSD) in Mariposa keeps the local residents from driving to Merced. Using the VSD residents can speak directly with a Social Security Representative live over the video display in a private room. Since February 2014 the service has provided 59 interview days on Tuesday's and Friday's from 9:00 A.M. to Noon. The service has served an average of three residents a day for a total so far of 177. On Tuesdays no appointment is required. Fridays are set up for appointments. Information is also available on the Social Security website at: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/
Myra Ramirez said on the web you can perform items such as change of address, change bank account information, check your status and change your phone number. You can also request a replacement Medi-Care card online. Retirement calculators are also available.
The Merced office is open from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday hours are from 9:00 A.M. to Noon.
