Rivers Still Closed
July 14, 2023 - Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials report that county rivers are still closed.
Just a quick reminder to everyone in TULARE County that all of our rivers are still closed to the public, with the exception of commercial rafting companies and experienced kayakers and rafters on the Kern River and the Kaweah River.
With high summer temperatures, the record snowpack in the Sierra Nevada is melting rapidly causing our rivers to flow fast and furiously. We’ve already had three drownings in our fast-moving rivers. Sheriff Boudreaux wants you to stay away from our rivers, streams and canals for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
Stay safe, stay smart and stay alive.
