July 20, 2023 - Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 19, 2023, Cameron Tyler Wright (22, of Fresno) was sentenced to a term of 55 years to life for the first-degree murder of his girlfriend, Samantha Sharp. This sentence was handed down by the Honorable Mark Cullers in Department 11 of the Fresno Superior Court after Wright entered a guilty plea back on May 18, 2023.
On January 9, 2023, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a reporting party that Cameron Wright was claiming to have killed his girlfriend, dismembered her body, and spread her remains throughout different locations in the county. Sheriff deputies responded to the locations that Wright provided and discovered Ms. Sharp’s remains. Shortly after the discovery Wright was placed under arrest and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
