July 26, 2023 - Amador County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 24, 2023, at approximately 1959 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Amador County Sheriff logoresidence in the 27000 block of Salt Springs Road in Pioneer, California, regarding a family dispute. The initial report indicated 43-year-old Kenneth Ahart, was in a physical altercation with his 17-year-old son. Prior to arriving on scene, deputies were notified that Ahart and his son had left the location in a black truck. The vehicle was located a short time later and led deputies on a pursuit. During the pursuit, deputies ordered Abut to stop the vehicle, however, Ahart ignored commands to stop. In his attempt to evade deputies, Ahart drove his truck into a Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle, striking the driver's side door where the deputy was standing. The deputy did not sustain any injuries. Apart was able to flee the area.

While deputies and members of the California Highway Patrol canvassed the area for Ahart, additional deputies responded to the location of the incident and were informed Ahart was in possession of several firearms. A records check of Ahart revealed he was a convicted felon and therefore precluded from owning firearms. Members of the Amador County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau responded and subsequently authored a search warrant for Ahares trailer. Deputies located a total of 13 firearms during the search of Altart's trailer.

Ahart was eventually located in the area and was subsequently arrested and booked at the Amador County Jail on charges of Child Abuse, Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer, Evading, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and numerous additional firearms related charges. This investigation remains ongoing.
