July 30, 2023 - Merced – Merced Police Department officials report that Andres Lopez Romero (28) was arrested for weapon charges during a traffic stop.
On Friday, July 28th, 2023, at 11:30 P.M., Officer Moreno made a traffic enforcement on a vehicle near E. Childs & N. Parsons Ave.
The driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Officer Moreno completed an inventory search of the vehicle and located a loaded, unserialized, 9mm semi-automatic firearm and ammunition. Lopez was determined to be the owner of the firearm.
Lopez is restricted from possessing firearms due to his criminal history. Lopez was booked into the Merced County Jail for firearm & ammunition charges.
