Locally breezy and very dry conditions amid above normal temperatures will continue across much of the northern Intermountain West, with minimum relative humidity of 5-18% and poor overnight recovery. Hot temperatures will continue in Texas, Oklahoma, and the Lower Mississippi Valley, and southerly sustained winds 12-20 mph across Texas will create areas of elevated fire weather conditions as well. Monsoon moisture will continue to move north into the central and eastern Great Basin and central Rockies, with scattered to widespread mainly wet thunderstorms. Drier westerly flow is forecast across southern California into the Southwest, with isolated to scattered mixed wet and dry thunderstorms. Scattered thunderstorms will develop from the northern and central Plains into the Mid-Mississippi Valley, and along the Southeast coast into Florida. Well above normal temperatures are forecast for Interior and south-central Alaska, with thunderstorms for the far eastern Interior and Copper River Basin.
