August 5, 2023 - Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday July 21st, 2023, just after 11:00 p.m. a deputy made a traffic stop for a missing registration sticker in the area of Willow Street and Main Street in Jamestown. A record check of the vehicle found the vehicle’s registration was approximately two years expired.
The deputy had the occupants of the vehicle, 38-year-old Joshua Caudill and a female passenger, exit the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle deputies found two pepper-spray canisters, a baseball bat, and several bags containing a total of approximately 126 grams gross weight of Methamphetamine, approximately 192 grams gross weight of Fentanyl and approximately 4 grams of heroin. A record check of Caudill found he was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing pepper spray.
Deputies arrested Caudill and transported him to the Dambacher Detention Center (DDC). While at the jail, deputies found Caudill had been out on bail for a prior felony charge. Deputies booked Caudill on charges of possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance for sale, prohibited person in possession of tear gas and committing a felony while out on bail.
