August 14, 2023 - Fresno Police Department officials report that the Northwest Bike Unit officers (in a patrol vehicle) initiated a traffic stop in the area of Locust Avenue and Sugarpine Avenue for a vehicle code violation. Officers found the vehicle to have a stolen license plate displayed, not matching the vehicle.

The driver was found to be a  convicted felon on active parole for burglary. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded, stolen firearm, an additional stolen license plate, ammunition, and narcotics paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for numerous charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, parole violation and vehicle code violations.
