August 22, 2023 - Fresno Police Department officials report that the Department’s Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) would like to remind residents of Fresno to be diligent in protecting their vehicles from theft. 

Park in well-lit areas at night.

Always lock your vehicle’s doors and windows.

Don’t leave your keys in the vehicle or leave the vehicle’s engine running when unoccupied.

Use a steering wheel locking device or alarm system.

In 2023, the City of Fresno has experienced a 21% decrease in auto theft compared to the same time period in 2022.  CCATT has made 168 arrests (78 were gang members), recovered 203 stolen vehicles, and recovered 33 firearms.
