August 22, 2023 - El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 14, 2023, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Detectives began investigating the report of a sexual assault that occurred in the area of Cool. A female reported to deputies that she had been sexually assaulted after being severely beaten and held against her will. Detectives authored a search warrant and multiple locations were searched to include a residence in Roseville where the suspect was ultimately located and taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Slaughter.  Slaughter was arrested on multiple sexual assault and domestic violence charges. At this time, we believe Joshua may be related to additional sexual assault cases and want to provide contact information for people to come forward.
