Full Closure of Northbound State Route 99 at
Avenue 12 in Madera County Planned for Several
Nights During the Week Of August 28th

August 22, 2023 - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), along with Security Paving, announces the overnight closure of northbound State Route 99, at Avenue 12, for several caltrans logonights starting Monday, August 28th. The closure is needed for crews to install precast girders for the Cottonwood Creek Replacement Project currently happening on the southbound lanes. The overnight closures are scheduled to last three nights.

The following will occur:

  • Northbound State Route 99, at Avenue 12, will be closed during the overnight hours of Monday, August 28th, Tuesday, August 29th and Wednesday, August 30th.
  • The closures are scheduled from 10:30 P.M. each night and go until 4:30 A.M. the following morning.
  • Drivers will be escorted off the highway at the Avenue 12 off-ramp and then brought back onto the highway using the northbound Avenue 12 on-ramp.
  • Flaggers will be onsite to help guide drivers through the detour.
  • The #1 lane of northbound State Route 99, beginning at Avenue 9, will be closed beginning at 8:00 P.M. to help crews prepare for the overnight closures.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.
