August 23, 2023 - Sequoia National Park announces shuttle service returns to the Giant Forest. 

We are so happy to have the Sequoia Shuttle running in the Giant Forest again! (This follows the resolution of a workers' strike against Visalia Transit service operator Transdev.) Shuttles will operate through Sunday, September 10, 2023,this year. Shuttle routes operate from 8:00 A.M. to about 6:00 P.M. A few reminders about the shuttles:

On a busy day, the best places to park to see the General Sherman Tree are the large lots at Lodgepole Campground or Wolverton. Riding the shuttle to the General Sherman Tree avoids a steep trail with stairs and is a great option for visitors with children or limited mobility.

For visitors who plan on hiking, the shuttle allows for wonderful one-way hikes directly through the heart of the Giant Forest, such as walking from Crescent Meadow to the Sherman Tree.

The Moro Rock/Crescent Meadow Road (including Tunnel Log) is closed to visitor vehicles from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on weekends and holidays when the shuttle is operating. If driving your car through Tunnel Log is an important item on your Sequoia bucket list, visit on a weekday, or plan to get there before 8:00 A.M. or after 7:00 P.M.!
