August 26, 2023 – Calaveras County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 18th, 2023, at approximately 1:23 A.M. (0123 hours), the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary in progress at a marijuana dispensary located on Angels Road in San Andreas, CA. According to witnesses, three masked subjects were seen fleeing the closed business, each carrying goods and wearing dark clothing. The suspects were reported to have left the scene in a vehicle, heading south on Highway 49.

The Sheriff's Office located the suspected vehicle by searching the potential routes it could have taken out of the county. With coordination from the neighboring city of Oakdale Police Department, they followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Instead of complying with the stop, the subjects fled, leading deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Oakdale Police Department on a high-speed pursuit through the city limits and into rural Stanislaus County.  The subjects evaded law enforcement efforts initially but were ultimately located by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office air support unit.

Working alongside their air unit, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office successfully used a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle on Church Street, close to Parker Road in Modesto, CA. Two of the three individuals in the vehicle were apprehended near the location, while the third person managed to escape on foot and remains at large. A law enforcement canine from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office assisted in apprehending one of the suspects who had attempted to resist arrest.

The two suspects have been identified as Adolph Coronado, age 37, and Matthew Coronado, age 18, both residents of Fresno, CA. They have been booked into the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility on felony burglary and conspiracy charges. The case remains under investigation.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office requests assistance identifying the third suspect. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office at 209-754-6500.

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office and Oakdale Police Department for their assistance in bringing the suspects into custody. We are proud to work alongside our fellow law enforcement agencies to maintain the safety of our communities.
