Weather

An upper low will remain over northern California, with scattered showers and thunderstorms across much of northern California, Oregon, and southern Washington. Monsoonal moisture will continue to stream northward ahead of the upper low from Arizona through the Great Basin and into the central and northern Rockies. Scattered to widespread thunderstorms are expected across these areas, with drier storms on the periphery of the moisture. Warmer and drier than normal conditions are expected across portions of Washington, north Idaho, and Montana to the north of the moisture surge and upper low. Hot, dry, and breezy conditions will develop across much of the Plains into the Midwest and southern Rockies, while hot and dry conditions will continue across much of Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are likely along portions of the western and central Gulf Coast into the Lower Mississippi Valley. Scattered showers and gusty winds remain likely for central and eastern portions of the Interior, including snow above 3,000 feet, and another wave of precipitation will move over western Alaska and into the Interior by tonight.
