September 4, 2023 - Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday morning at 10:44 A.M., Deputies responded to a shots fired call in the 4000 block of Lingard Road in Merced. When Deputies arrived, they located an adult female deceased and multiple firearms in the residence. Through the investigation, Detectives identified Gerardo Jimenez Beltran as the suspect. Beltran was taken into custody and booked into the Merced County Jail for voluntary manslaughter and weapon possession charges.

Detectives are continuing this investigation. We’re currently withholding the name of the victim pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
