Arson Murder Investigation Update 

September 9, 2023 - Fresno Police Department officials report that Chief Paco Balderrama will hold a news conference on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at 5678 East Shields Avenue regarding new developments in the murder investigation of 7-year-old Isaac Vallejo.

On July 6, 2022, the Fresno Fire Department responded to a house fire at 243 North College Avenue in central Fresno. Three adults and two children escaped the home, but Isaac Vallejo was unable to escape. Firefighters located the seven-year-old in one of the second-story bedrooms.

Fire investigators determined that an accelerant was used to ignite the fire and classified the case as arson. With the discovery of the deceased body of Isaac Vallejo, a murder investigation was initiated with the Fresno Police Department Homicide Unit.

This is an active homicide investigation and detectives still need assistance from the public with any information regarding this horrific crime.
