September 14, 2023 - It is with tremendous shock and grief that the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation shares the heartbreaking news that our dear friend and colleague, Carole Fish, JCFHF Caroleunexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Carole joined the Foundation in August of 2022 and served as our Strategic Planning and Fundraising Chair.

This loss, very personal and tragic, leaves a massive hole in our hearts and in our work. Carole was a key member of our team, and a leader in envisioning an elegant, fun, and delightful Black and White Ball. We have worked closely with her for nearly a year, and words do not seem enough to share how her can-do, spunky, and extremely professional character touched all of us.

Carole was a fascinating person. She worked at the highest levels of fundraising and strategic planning in San Diego County for entities like Rady Children’s Hospital and Scripps Health, but she also was an incredibly skilled soccer player on a traveling team, an avid skier, and sang in the Mariposa Community Chorus. In short, she was super cool.

Carole joined the Board to make a difference in rural health. She really appreciated having a hospital in this community and was an enthusiastic worker in its support. Her tremendous talent and skill, which was visible in everything she did, is irreplaceable.

Carole enjoyed a close-knit family. The Foundation Board hopes her family will find comfort in one another and the fond memories she left behind.

We miss her greatly.
