October 3, 2023 - Mariposa County is announcing upcoming roadwork along Triangle Road in preparation for the upcoming winter and potential Mariposa County logo 2020storms.

Triangle Road will be closed between Carleton and Silva Roads beginning October 9th for approximately 4 to 6 weeks (weather permitting) to replace culverts damaged during this past winter’s floods. The closure will be in effect from 6:00am to 6:00pm. There is a potential for overnight closures during the projected timeframe. Residents who live between Carleton and Silva will be able to access their homes and clear direction will be provided to ensure their ingress/egress as construction progresses. The efforts to replace culverts will help to improve drainage and reduce impacts of future rains, storms, and floods.

“With the potential of another wet winter looming, our team is doing everything we can to prepare now and reduce the impacts to our community and roadways,” said Shannon Hansen, Public Works Director. “We know these closures are an inconvenience, but we hope that by being proactive and doing this work now, we can prevent longer closures and significant damage this winter that could leave residents in a worse position.”

In addition, Mariposa County Public Works was notified by PG&E that Triangle Road between Darrah and the Snow Creek Bridge will be closed from 9:00am to 3:00pm, starting October 9th for work. This project should be completed in 3 to 4 weeks (weather permitting).

To help notify the community of these closures, Mariposa County Public Works placed electronic signage on Triangle at Deadman’s Curve and the intersection of Triangle and Darrah. Those with questions are encouraged to contact Public Works at 209-966-5356.

“We recognize this is a commonly traveled roadway, but we want the impact to the public to be as minimal as possible,” stated Joe Williams, Mariposa County Roads and Bridges Manager. “We are asking everyone to keep these dates in mind for your own travels, but to also share them with others so no one is caught unaware.”
