October 13, 2023 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that recently, a PCSO deputy seized close to one pound of methamphetamine and suspected GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate), commonly known as the date-rape drug, after making a traffic stop in unincorporated Rocklin. One of the three occupants inside the vehicle initially gave the deputy a false name to avoid arrest, but through the deputy’s investigative efforts, he was identified as 26-year-old Johnathan Moore, of Placerville. A search of Moore’s person revealed $100 in cash. During the investigation, the deputy searched the vehicle in question and located a sizeable quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, and suspected GHB, along with close to 200 plastic baggies commonly used for packaging and distributing narcotics. The deputy also searched the driver, 27-year-old Andre Buchanan-Harris, and found over $3,600 in cash.

The deputy arrested Johnathan Moore, Andre Buchanan-Harris, and 26-year-old Kenesha Moore on multiple charges related to the possession, sale, and transportation of a controlled substance. Johnathan Moore was arrested on additional charges including giving false identification, obstructing/resisting an officer, conspiracy, and his felony out-of-county warrant. Buchanan-Harris was also arrested for conspiracy.

Proactive enforcement is integral to keeping our youth and most vulnerable population safe from illicit substances here in Placer County, especially as we continue the battle against fentanyl.

We are proud of the work our deputies do each day and night to ensure our citizens and visitors remain safe.
