October 19, 2023 - In the week ending October 14, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 198,000, a decrease
of 13,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 209,000 to 211,000. The 4-week moving average was 205,750, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 206,250 to 206,750.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2 percent for the week ending October 7, unchanged from the previous week's revised rate. The previous week's rate was revised up by 0.1 from 1.1 to 1.2 percent. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending October 7 was 1,734,000, an increase of 29,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up 3,000 from 1,702,000 to 1,705,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,694,000, an increase of 19,000 from the previous week's revised average.
