October 21, 2023 - Merced, CA – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday afternoon, the Merced County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau located a fourth suspect in the attempted double homicide on September 23, 2023. Detectives determined the suspect, Saul Lomeli, was currently in Shafter, California.

Our Investigations Bureau contacted the Shafter Police Department, and they were able to locate Lomeli and arrest him. Lomeli was booked into the Merced County Jail, for attempted double homicide. Thank you to the Shafter Police Department for their assistance on this arrest.
