TRAFFIC ADVISORY 
Ramp Closures Scheduled for October 29 - November 4, 2023 

October 27, 2023 – MERCED COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following ramp closures next week on State Route-99 (SR-99) for the Merced 99 Pavement Rehabilitation construction project. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

STATE ROUTE 99

Motorists are urged to use extra caution and slow down to a maximum speed of 45 MPH in construction zones where barricaded and split lanes are in place.

  • Long-term, full closure of southbound SR-99 Childs Avenue Over-Crossing onramp for construction through October 29, 2023.
  • Long-term, full closure of southbound SR-99 G Street Under-Crossing on-ramp for construction through November 30, 2023.
  • Long-term, full closure of southbound SR-99 State Route 59/MLK Way on-ramp for construction through November 1, 2023.
  • Long-term, full closure of southbound SR-99 R Street Under-Crossing on-ramp for construction through November 1, 2023.
  • Long-term full closure of southbound SR-99 16th Street Under-Crossing off-ramp for construction through November 6, 2023.

  • Full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at SR-140/59 (V Street) for construction beginning Sunday, October 29, through Friday, November 3, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at 16th Street for construction beginning Sunday, October 29, through Friday, November 3, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at 16th Street Under-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, October 29, through Friday, November 3, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
