November 3, 2023 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that the homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Fresno County Sheriff logoOffice have arrested a 14-year-old boy for the murder of 55-year-old Ruben Ramirez of Parlier.  The suspect is a student at Sanger West High School who has ties to a criminal street gang.  His name and photo are not available to release due to being a minor.

Around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 12th, Fresno County Sheriff’s dispatchers took a call regarding a victim of a shooting.  Deputies responded to the intersection of Bethel and Jefferson in Del Rey.  There they located a vehicle and found Ruben Ramirez inside suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and determined Ramirez was shot minutes earlier in the town of Del Rey.  His friend tried driving him to safety and pulled over at Bethel and Jefferson after noticing the severity of his wound and that he needed immediate medical attention.
