November 22, 2023 - TUOLUMNE COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will reopen the temporary closure State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) at Kennedy Meadows to traffic, beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

ALPINE COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will re-open the temporary closure State Route 4 (Ebbetts Pass) to traffic, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

Changeable Message Signs with flashing beacons will have information regarding the pass closures.

This is a good time to remember these tips:
• Slow down on rain or snow slick roads to prevent spin outs.
• Allow for extra travel time.
• Carry chains at all times, check tires and windshield wiper fluid.
• Visibility decreases during snow fall.
• Carry an emergency kit with extra food, water, clothing, and sleeping bag.
