December 7, 2023 - Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office officials report that they received a 3-million-dollar grant from the State of California for cannabis enforcement and awareness.
This grant will fund positions to enhance the Sheriff's Office Marijuana Enforcement Team’s ability to protect the public from illegal cannabis operators threatening the environment, community, public health, and the legal cannabis market, in addition to the continued regulation and code enforcement of permitted commercial marijuana cultivation within the unincorporated areas of Stanislaus County. With the help of social media, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office will spread awareness about the dangers of cannabis use and its effects on young people.
This grant will run through April of 2028.
