December 15, 2023 - El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on December 2, the Sheriff's Office Homeless Outreach Team conducted a clean-up of the area behind CVS in Pollock Pines. Over the years this area has been the site of many homeless encampments and a dumping ground for garbage. EDSO HOT partnered with the Community Economic Development Association of Pollock Pines (CEDAPP) to organize this clean up and it was completed with assistance from CVS, Mountain Enterprises, True Value of Pollock Pines, Kingpin Services and over 15 community volunteers.
In total, the clean-up effort removed 16,900 lbs. of garbage and tree trimmings, 16 vehicle tires, 26 hypodermic needles and performed tree thinning to aid visibility for law enforcement. This event was a culmination of several months of planning and could not have been accomplished without the support of the community. EDSO is responsive to the needs of our community and will diligently work to improve the quality of life for all of our citizens.
