TEENS: Be Wary of Strangers Online and In Person
December 20, 2023 - Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials issue warning to teens to be wary of strangers online and in person.
Now that winter break is here, the TCSO Human Trafficking Unit would like young people to be wary of strangers wanting to be friends with them online and to be aware of their surroundings in person.
In this video, you will see Sheriff’s Explorers re-enacting scenarios the public may face in real time.
Always remember the following:
- Not everyone is who they claim to be online.
- Be cautious of sharing personal information or meeting someone in person that you’ve only met online.
- If anyone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them immediately.
If you or someone you know needs help, please don’t hesitate to report crimes and suspicious activity at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (559) 733-6218 or anonymously at (559) 725-4194 or tcso@tipnow.com.
