healing field mariposa museum and history center

On Saturday, November 14, 2015 the closing ceremony will be held at 11:00 A.M.

November 13, 2015 - A Healing Field® is on display at the Mariposa Museum and History Center in Mariposa. The display coordinated by Jaq Quinn as a 4-H Emerald Project is a field of 150 American Flags that were individually purchased by members of the community to pay tribute to military, law enforcement, fire personnel, first responders and special people. The flags are for remembering, honoring and healing.

Mr. Quinn is fourteen years old and is in his fifth year as a member of the Hornitos 4-H. He thanks all the individuals. families and businesses that sponsored flags.

Jaq Quinns display of flags is called A Field of Service - Past and Present.  The Hornitos Patrons Club and Hornitos 4-H also helped with this ambitious project.

On Saturday, November 8, 2015 the opening ceremony was held with Jaq Quinn as the Master of Ceremony. With help from members of the Hornitos 4-H the names of the residents who purchased the flags and who they are honoring were read.  Mr. George Radanovich, Former U.S. Representative for Congressional District 19 from 1995-2011 also spoke at the ceremony.

This event is a fundraiser for the Mariposa Museum and History Center.
