December 27, 2023 - On Wednesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom said, "California is the most biodiverse state in the nation—and we're one of the world's 36 biodiversity hotspots. This year, we made progress on our nation-leading goal to conserve 30% of lands and coastal waters by 2030,"
"24.4% of state land is in preserve, there are a little over 100 Million acres in the State of California, we have got about 6 Million more acres to go,"
"We are at 16.2% of our coastal waters protected. This is all about protecting and preserving for generations,"
"And we need to protect and preserve that unique character, that unique status that makes this the greatest state anywhere on Planet Earth."
