December 29, 2023 – Amador County Sheriff's Office officials report that on December 27, 2023, at approximately 2:56 P.M., an Amador County Sheriff's Office Deputy was patrolling the area of Fiddletown Road and Shenandoah Road, in the unincorporated area of Plymouth, when he observed a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck that he recognized as belonging to 30-year old David Joseph of Fiddletown, whom he was aware was on active Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and had numerous warrants for his arrest. As the vehicle passed by, the Deputy positively identified Joseph as the driver and attempted a traffic enforcement stop.

Joseph failed to yield and led the Deputy on a low-speed pursuit that ultimately concluded when Joseph pulled over in order to avoid spike strips that had been placed near the intersection of Zinfandel Parkway and Highway 49, within the City of Plymouth.

Joseph was eventually taken into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed Joseph was in possession of a loaded Springfield XD handgun. Joseph was booked into the Amador County Sheriff's Office Jail on his warrants along with numerous fresh charges related to evading and possession of a firearm by a precluded person.
