January 8, 2024 - Mariposa County Little League announces registration for the 2024 season is open, and you can log on to sign up your player for the Spring season at: www.mariposalittleleague.org.

Due to inflated costs to run the league, the MCLL Board of Directors has decided to slightly increase the registration fees for the 2024 season.  This year fees for the younger players will be $100.  All players in Player Pitch and above will cost $125.

We hope to have seven divisions this year.  4 to 6 year-olds who have never played can learn the basics of the game in our Tee Ball division.  Kids 6 to 8 who previously played Tee Ball, can sign up for Coach Pitch for more detailed instruction.  Kids who are 8 to 10 can play in our Minors division for a more competitive baseball experience.  Our Majors division is for kids 10 to 12, and is a higher level of play.  This is the division usually associated with the Little League World Series.  Most games for these divisions will be played in Mariposa, but for our Minors and Majors divisions, there may be the possibility of games played in Oakhurst and Coarsegold.

For the older kids, we have three divisions that begin after the Middle School season.  Our Intermediate division is for players aged 11 to 13 and is commonly called 50/70 for the increased dimensions of the field.  Our oldest group of players can play in our Juniors division. This is for players aged 13-14 and is played on a normal-sized field.  Since it starts after Middle School baseball ends, it’s the last chance for organized baseball for kids entering High School next fall.  Our Senior division is for players aged 14-16 and starts in the middle of May.  All three of these divisions will have home games played in Mariposa, and will travel to Oakhurst, Coarsegold, and the Central Valley for road games.

No fees will be charged unless we are able to field a team for any of these divisions.  If we are unable to field a team for a particular division, we will cancel it for this year.

Opening Day for Majors and Minors divisions is scheduled for March 16th, while the Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions will start their season on March 23rd.  The start of the season for Juniors and 50/70 will be for either late April or early May, with the exact opening decided at a later date.

In addition to the regular season, we will be starting Sandlot Days at the beginning of February for the older kids, while the younger kids will start around the middle of the month.  Sandlot Days are a chance for kids to knock off some rust prior to the tryouts and the season starting.  They are fun, informal  workouts to get back to basics.  Times and dates for Sandlot Days will be announced later this month.

We look forward to another great season of baseball in Mariposa!
