Regional Executive Chef in Yosemite National Park, Percy Whatley was the Academic Booster Club's Career Lunch speaker at Mariposa County High School on November 4, 2015.  A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and one of eight semi-finalists for Bocuse d'Or USA, Chef Whatley entertained questions from MCHS students and educated them on the many culinary arts fields.  He encouraged all students interested in pursuing a career in culinary arts to start from entry level positions such as busing or dishwashing and to be prepared for hard but rewarding work.  

ABC Career Lunch is open to all MCHS students, is held the first Wednesday of every month in the Learning Center, and (thanks to an anonymous donation to ABC) provides a free meal to the first forty students who sign up.
