Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Arrest

January 14, 2024 - Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that as part of Human Trafficking Awareness, we wanted to share a recent arrest we made.

In October 2023, CAP Detectives received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) being downloaded by a computer at a residence in Placer County. Detectives authored a search warrant and determined that the IP address was associated with a residence in Colfax.

On January 9, 2024, Detectives served a search warrant at the residence and seized several electronic devices and devices capable of storing digital data. During a search of the items seized, detectives located videos and images of CSAM. Twenty-Five-Year-Old Jakob Dylan Johnson was subsequently arrested for PC 311.11(a), PC 311.11(C)(1), and PC 311.11(C)(2) and booked at the Auburn Main Jail.

At Placer County Sheriff’s Office, we are constantly working to investigate and end this type of criminal activity. We will never tolerate children being exploited in this or any other way.
