Outstanding Fatal Hit & Run Vehicle 

January 14, 2024 - Fresno Police Department officials report that on Friday, January 5, 2024, at approximately 3:48 a.m., Fresno Police officers were dispatched to Shields Avenue and Wilson Avenue regarding a hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. The victim was crossing Shields Avenue when a vehicle struck the victim in the westbound lanes. Despite life-saving measures by doctors at CRMC, the pedestrian was declared deceased. The suspect vehicle was last seen northbound on Wilson Avenue from Shields Avenue.

Collision Reconstruction and Hit & Run Detectives responded to the scene. Based on evidence obtained thus far, we believe the suspect vehicle to be a 2-door vehicle, similar to a Dodge Challenger. It will have damage to the front end and possible damage to the front windshield.
