January 23, 2024 – Sacramento, CA – CAL FIRE officials report that on January 12, 2024, suspect, Cody Haney was arrested by the Ontario Police Department for the outstanding Sacramento County felony arson warrant and other felony warrants. On December 10, 2023, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the CSU, Sacramento campus in the City and County of Sacramento.

The CAL FIRE - Office of the State Fire Marshal’s Arson and Bomb Unit determined the fire to be incendiary (arson) and on State of California property. The suspect was later identified as Cody Alexander Haney. An arrest warrant for Haney was issued for 451(c) P.C. (arson) with bail set at $50,000.00. The CAL FIRE - Office of the State Fire Marshal Arson and Bomb Unit would like to acknowledge that Haney was brought into custody through a collaborative effort of the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers, members of the public, California State University Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Sheriff’s Office, and the Ontario Police Department.
