77 Arrests Made in Human Trafficking Operation

February 1, 2024 - Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office officials report that in over six days, the Stanislaus Taskforce Against Human Trafficking participated in Operation Reclaim and Rebuild, a statewide operation. The operation was conducted from January 21st through January 27th in observance of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The operation focuses on rescuing victims of human trafficking by disrupting the supply and demand chain by identifying and arresting captors of vulnerable victims.

During the first part of the operation, four massage parlors were investigated: two Modesto, one in Ceres, and another in Turlock. Several arrests were made, and secondary locations were searched after evidence was recovered at the massage parlors. Victims were offered resources through HAVEN, Without Permission, and District Attorney Victim Services. The second part focused on prostitution operations. During this phase, multiple subjects were arrested, including two pimps.

In total, 77 men and women were arrested, two victims were rescued, four guns were recovered, and $50,780 were seized. Arrests were for an array of misdemeanor and felony charges, including prostitution, pimping, and human trafficking.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is devoted to collaborating with our law enforcement partners. We want to thank City of Turlock - Turlock Police Department, Oakdale Police Department - California, Ceres Police Department, Homeland Security, California Highway Patrol, California Parole, Stanislaus County District Attorney and Victim Advocates, HAVEN, and Without Permission for helping make this operation possible.

If you are a victim of human trafficking or have any information related to crimes of human trafficking, you can contact Stanislaus County Area Crime Stoppers by calling 1-866-60-CRIME.
