February 3, 2024 - Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on February 2, 2024, at  approximately 7:35 a.m. Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle in the area of Q Street and 34^th Street. Units in the area responded and located the vehicle in the area of Union Avenue and Flower Street and attempted to initiate a stop. The vehicle fled to Highway 178 westbound.

The car, a 2019 Dodge Challenger, was related to crimes in the LA area. The 2 suspects related to the crimes were considered armed and dangerous.

A pursuit ensued continuing westbound 178.

The suspect vehicle lost control and struck a pole at 23^rd Street and K Street.

Both occupants fled on foot and were apprehended shortly after.

A firearm was recovered from the scene.

Jelani Green, age 19, was arrested for reckless evading, possession of stolen vehicle, grand theft auto, resisting arrest, hit and run as well as numerous weapons related charges.

A female juvenile was arrested for reckless evading, possession of stolen vehicle, grand theft auto, and resisting arrest.
