Oakhurst Library Workshop: Origami Christmas Decorations
The Oakhurst Library is pleased to host a workshop on Friday, December 4th, 2015 presented by Carla Hyatt from Bakersfield. Carla will teach her audience how to use the ancient art of folding paper into various artistic shapes. At the class, participants will make 2 or 3 origami Christmas decorations which can be used as ornaments or holiday cards. One can be made into a holiday pin.
Carla is a retired math teacher and often used origami to demonstrate mathematic concepts to her middle-school students. Origami helped her teach fractions and geometry and now she is applying her skills to making these unique Christmas decorations.
“Give one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Christmas presents this year using origami. Have fun and make something special, too,” says Carla.
Anyone aged 11 and older is invited (children and adults). But, the class is limited to the first 40 people to pre-register at 559-683-4838. All supplies will be provided. Each student will make the decorations and can take their projects with them when they leave the class. Thank you to FOBL for sponsoring this event.
