Homicide Investigation: Updated Information
February 14, 2024 - Inyo County Sheriff’s Office officials report that investigators from the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office are 
actively investigating a shooting that occurred on Shepard Lane in Bishop, California. On Monday, February 12, 2024, Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Shepard Lane and located a male victim who was bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 57-year-old David William Miller. Miller’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information and assistance from our community regarding the death of David Miller.
The Inyo County Investigations Unit, which is comprised of local allied agencies, has been working tirelessly to provide public safety, as well as providing a complete and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Miller's death.
Due to the sensitive nature of this active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
