Merced Police Recover Stolen Property 

February 14, 2024 - Merced – Merced Police Department officials report that on February 12, 2024, at approximately 4:36 P.M., members of the Cen Cal Cheerleading team reported their facility had been broken into and burglarized. They had several electronics and cheerleading uniforms stolen. Merced Police Officers and Detectives were able to work with the team members to track down some of those items to the 1300 block of West First Street in Merced.

On February 13, Detectives and Gang Officers were able to serve a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of West First Street. Investigators recovered stolen property from the Cen Cal Cheer Team as well as an unrelated stolen vehicle. Investigators arrested Danny Polk (41) for possession of stolen property. Two other subjects Troy Smith (51), and David Dabbs (39) were arrested for outstanding Probation Warrants in Merced County.
