During its annual Christmas Program, Soroptimist International of Mariposa members made donations of toys to the Mariposa County Sheriffs Association to support its KOPS for KIDS program. 

This year, the Mariposa County Deputy Sheriffs Association’s KOPS for KIDS program celebrates its 19th year of providing holiday cheer to the children and families of the community of Mariposa.  With the donations received, toys are purchased and delivered to the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, filling the majority of the building.  Parents arrive at the Fairgrounds to pick through hundreds of toys for their children.  These are families that would not normally be able to provide the Christmas experience for their children due to financial woes and personal circumstances.   For more information about the KOPS for KIDS program call: (209) 966-3615.

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.  In addition to participating in international projects, Soroptimist International of Mariposa raises funds for the benefit of local service projects, scholarships, youth groups, search and rescue efforts, and many other vital community services. Most recent recipients include Manna House, Helping Hands, Habitat for Humanity, and the Elegant Dress Closet Project.  Soroptimist continues to be a major contributor/sponsor for Mountain Crisis Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping domestic violence victims in Mariposa County.
