February 16, 2024 – CAL FIRE officials report that thanks to the community's assistance, both suspects pictured in the flyer issued on Wednesday, have been identified and arrested.

Upon the Sacramento State Police Department receiving several anonymous tips, on February 13^th at approximately 6:30 p.m., investigators from the CAL FIRE Office of the State Fire Marshal Arson and Bomb Unit and the Sacramento Fire Department Arson Unit arrested Brandon Reyes-Rodriguez, 23 years old, in the 1900 block of J Street for outstanding arson charges. 

The following day, on February 14^th, Sacramento State Police Department detectives and Arson and Bomb Investigators arrested Miguel Angel Ortiz, 26 years old, in the 7700 block of College Town Drive on arson charges related to the same investigation.

Reyes-Rodriguez and Ortiz are not associated with Sac State and have been booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.  The Sacramento State Police Department would like to publicly thank our community for prompt response and information sharing.
