Homicide Investigation Update in Raymond
February 21, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that in the afternoon of February 15, 2024, Madera County Sheriff’s Deputies located a deceased adult female at a residence in the 40000 block of Bailey Flats Road in Raymond. Based on preliminary findings at the scene, Detectives are investigating this incident as a homicide.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau has every available resource dedicated to this case. Investigators remained on scene processing evidence for around 18 hours on Thursday, into Friday morning. Given the circumstances of the incident, we are limited in the information we are able to share publicly while Detectives piece together this complex case.
At this time, we are able to identify the decedent as Nicole Kunz, a 40-year-old resident of Visalia. An autopsy to determine her cause of death is scheduled. We extend our condolences to her family and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one. We would also like to reassure residents this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no perceived ongoing danger to the public. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
