December 10, 2015 - The Madera County Economic Development Commission recently released the 2014-2015 Annual Report.

Following is the complete report:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE:
Madera County has received some very positive and encouraging press recently as we were recognized as the number one county for growth in manufacturing jobs from 2009 to 2014—in the nation! Very impressive, I think! One may say, how did this happen? It happened because a lot of people are incredibly dedicated to Madera County and making it a great place to work and live.

The Madera County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC) serves as the economic development department for the County of Madera and the cities of Madera and Chowchilla. It is the strong working relationship between MCEDC and each of the three jurisdictions that allows us to be as successful in our endeavors to create more jobs in Madera County and maintain a healthy business climate in our communities.

MCEDC has an aggressive marketing plan to attract new business to Madera County. We work on a national basis to show why Madera County is a great place to expand or relocate a business. MCEDC also puts a high priority on retention and expansion efforts. Over the years we have developed solid relationships with all of our major employers and we are their first call when they are looking to expand their business or if they are confronted with a business related issue.

Our efforts have been successful, but, there is one other component we need to move projects to fruition—cooperation from our local jurisdictions. That is what is setting Madera County apart from other areas. The County and the cities are extremely business friendly. We know when we call on them they will respond quickly and when we introduce clients to their respective staffs, we know without a doubt the client will receive a warm welcome. And even more importantly, they are met with a “can-do” attitude. That is what makes us successful in our economic development efforts – a team effort where everyone is working toward the same goal.

In closing, I would like to thank our elected officials for supporting our work, the MCEDC Board of Commissioners who generously give of their time, and to the dedicated staff I have the privilege of working with every day—all working to show the world that Madera County is “The Perfect Location!” Bobby Kahn, Executive Director
